About Oscar

My name is Rev. Oscar Brockmeyer and I have been helping people to deepen their spiritual lives for over 35 years. I have over 20 years of experience as an individual and group spiritual companion (spiritual director). For 23 years I served as a Congregational church pastor in the United Church of Christ, and for 6 years I was the executive director of The Spiritual Life Center in Hartford, CT, USA.

During a span of 16 years, I helped train over 100 persons to be spiritual companions. Supervision of various spiritual service professionals is one of my specialties, and I have been providing this service for 18 years. Helping individuals and groups to discern their direction and to plan programs in spiritually informed ways are among my skills. I have master’s degrees in Social Work Policy and Planning, Divinity, and Counseling.

Deep listening and unconditional acceptance guide my interactions with others. My ministry is based on the conviction that God/the Sacred is present throughout the cosmos. I serve people who relate with God in traditional ways and those who don't, those who want to cultivate a meaningful Way of Life, and those who desire a closer alignment with the Universe. I enjoy working with people from various cultures and spiritual traditions. Among those I currently serve are individuals from several African nations as well as a group of Muslim people in Indonesia.
