About Oscar

My name is Rev. Oscar Brockmeyer, and I have been helping people to deepen their spiritual lives for over 35 years. I have over 20 years of experience as an individual and group spiritual companion (spiritual director). For 23 years I served as a Congregational church pastor in the United Church of Christ (UCC), and for 6 years I was the executive director of the nondenominational Spiritual Life Center in Hartford, CT, USA.

During a span of 16 years, I helped train over 100 persons to be spiritual companions. Supervision for spiritual service professionals is one of my specialties, and I have been providing this service for 18 years. I guide individuals and groups through the process of promoting justice in spiritually informed ways. Helping people discern the paths they will walk in life is a passion of mine. My master’s degrees in Divinity, Counseling, and Social Work Policy/Planning support all these activities,

Deep listening and unconditional acceptance are foundations for my interactions with others. My ministry is based on the conviction that God/the Sacred is present throughout the cosmos. I serve people who relate with God in traditional ways and those who don't, those who want to cultivate a meaningful Way of Life, and those who desire a closer alignment with the Universe. It’s a pleasure for me to work with people from various cultures and spiritual traditions and I currently serve individuals from several African nations as well as a group of Muslim people in Indonesia.
