Spiritual Friends Group

Sometimes we may feel spiritually alone even in the midst of friends and family. It's good to have a setting in which you can fully share the stories of your spiritual life and hear the stories of others. That's what happens in a Spiritual Friends Group.
In a Friends Group, five to eight persons meet once a month to share their spiritual journeys with one another. they do so under the guidance of a trained facilitator. This gentle process involves taking a “long, loving look” at one’s spiritual life in an atmosphere of confidentiality, trust, and openness.
Members of a spiritual companions group participants present a situation of spiritual interest or concern to them. Group members take turns, with one or two members presenting at each session. Other participants listen attentively and respond in ways that encourage the presenter to explore his or her topic more deeply. As we hear ourselves tell our own story, we become clear about how we want to celebrate or change our situation.
A Friends Group involves a very respectful process, without advice giving or attempts to “fix” the presenter. The trained facilitator helps to remind participants of these expectations.
